[NEW ZEALAND PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Dunedin, February 2. At the School Committee meeting, Mr W. Green gave notice of a committee to be appointed to confer with the teachers with the object of opening classes for bible reading and repeating the Lord's Prayer prior to the ordinary time of opening the school; and also to prepare a syllabus of biblo reading lessons for use in the schools. February 4. The cricket match Tasmania v. Otago was concluded to-day. The Tasmanians in their second innings made 47, leaviug Otago only 23 to get to win, which they did with the loss of two wickets. Christchdrch, February 3. The Canterbury Bowling Club easily defeated the Victorian team. February 4. The Victorians beat the Christchurch Bowling Club by eight points. Auckland, February 4. The champion billiard match took place in Lome street Hall, between Weiss and Lyons, the former giving 400 points. Weiss went out when Lyons had only reached 79. The best break was 101.
