The Kumara Times. Published Every Evening. FRIDAY, JANUARY 11, 1884.

We understand that the three candidates for the office of Borough Councillor, rendered vacant by the election of D. In celebration of the auspicious occasion a ball and supper will be held this evening, the ball at the Adelphi Theatre, which has been tastefully decorated for the occasion with flags, Chinese lanterns, and ferns, and which will doubtless when lighted up have a pleasing effect. Dancing is announced to commence at nine o'clock. The supper will be laid in the Masonic Hall, and, as the weather promises to be fine, no inconvenience need be experienced in walking a few paces further up the pathway to partake of the good cheer provided by Host Stewart. After supper dancing will be resumed at the Theatre. We have received the Union Steamship Company's Pocket Guide for January.
