(Received January 3, 9.55 p.m.) Melbourne, January 3, The agricultural reporter of the Leader estimates the yield of wheat in Victoria during the present season at 14.900.000 bushels, being an average of 14| bushels to the acre. The quantity available for export is estimated at 8.150.000 bushels. (Received January 4, 1 p.m.) January 4. The cricket match between the Australian Team and Combined Australians was continued yesterday; Boyle, not out, 40, and Murdoch, not out, 270, re sumed their places at the wickets; but the former was soon bowled without increasing the score, and the innings thus ended for 619 runs. Later. The match between the Australian Team and the Combined Australians has been drawn. Arrived, last evening, the Waihora, from the Bluff, Hobart, January 4. Approximate revenue returns shew a large falling off in the receipts from general sources. The Customs duties are expected to be £40,000 below the estimate. Sydney, 'January 3. Sailed, this afternoon, ’the Union steamship Rotomahana, for Auckland, and the P.M.S. City of Sydney, for San Francisco via Auckland. The steamer Tomki returned to port to-day, reporting that when thirty miles from the heads last night, it was found that a fire had broken out -on board, and that one of the passengers had lost his life by suffocation.
