VOLUNTEER RIFLE MATCHES.

The All-Comers Handicap Rifle Match took place on Monday last. There were 29 competitors, who were divided into two squads. The first squad fired at 5,30 a.m., and the second at 1 p.m. The ranges were 300, 400, and 500 yards j seven shots at each range. Some good shooting was made. Vol. Schulstad took first prize with 73 (which, including 6 handicap points) was out of a possible 84. The following are the scores of those who made 60 and over :

After the tiring fnr the above prizes was over, it being then about half-past four o’clock, the Extra Match, at 600 yards was commenced, for a silver cup presented by his Worshp the Mayor (D. Hannan, Esq.). Captain O’Hagan also gave thirty shillings, to make a second and third prize, and a fourth was also added of ss. The scores made in this match were to be counted with the scores made, in the All-Comers Match. The following were the winners, with the number of points made in each match, the handicap, and the aggregated total:—
