(Received May 7, 1.50 p.m.) May 7. Berry telegraphs from Sydney that he has every hope that the Postal Conference will result in the conclusion of satisfactory arrangements.. A father, mother, and four children have been burned to death near Beechworth. The father succeeded in bringing out two children from the burning house, and, on returning for the others, was suffocated. Two of the children who were brought out died soon after from the burns which they had received.
