LOCAL SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

A meeting of the Kumara Local School Committee was held in the Town Hall on Monday evening last; present— Mr Stanton (in the chair), Messrs Barrowman, Burger, and Campbell. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. The outward correspondence was read and approved of, and the inward read and received. It was resolved that a board with painted notice be put up on the Kumara State School ground cautioning persons not to trespass thereon. Petitions from Greenstone and Westbrook Schools were ordered to stand over till next meeting of the committee. The consideration of the contemplated reduction by the Central Board of the teaching staff in the Kumara State School was ordered to "stand over till next meeting of the Committee. The Visiting Committee reported having visited the School last month, and found the- same in a satisfactory state: This concluded the business of the meeting.
