BEN ALLAH.

There was a full house last evening to witness the performances of Ben Allah, the ventriloquist and illusionist, the advantages of printing and advertising being very forcibly demonstrated; programmes of the entertainment were circulated in every house, and the consequence was numbers of people who never seem to come out from one year's end to another, ladies too, were to be seen taking their seats last night in the Theatre Royal as the hour for the " Monach of Magicians " to shew his wonderful illusions and transformations drew near. The feats which this clever prestigiator performed were executed with a neatuess and finish which left nothing to be desired. Throughout the entei taiumenta pleasant strain of conversation was maintained, while the introduction of occasional jokes in connection with the various tricks had the desired effect of keeping up almost continuous laughter from the audience. This was especially the case during the ventriloqnial conversations with the inaimate figures, "Bob" and "Henry." The former not being possessed of the same powers of rataliation as Jem Mace, his sufferings for his impromptu remarks occasioned much merriment. At the! close of the performances a number of j

gifts were distributed, as generously as the takings would allow, leaving only a small margin of profit to Ben Allah ; and the last gift—a guinea to the hospital funds—was received by Mr J. O'Hagan, who suitably acknowledged the same on behalf of the committee, the audience manifesting their appreciation with cheers. There will be another entertainment to-night, at the same hour.
