Wanganui, February 28. The body of a female half-caste child was found yesterday afternoon on the sea beach. The body had been in the water about eight hours. It has been identified as'the child of a woman residing in Wanganui, the father being a a Chinaman. There are strong suspicions of foul play, and the mother has been arrested. March 1. The name of tbe mother of the child found drowned on Tuesday is Phoebe Vitch, a peculiar-lookiug working woman, twenty-five years of age. She was brought up at the Court to-day on a charge of wilful murder, and remanded.
