BRITISH AND FOREIGN. AFFIRMATION IN LIEU OF OATHS BILL. BEDOUIN MURDERERS. (Received February 21, 0.50 a.in.) London, February 20. The Government bill providing for the affirmation in lieu of oaths at the option of members upon taking their seats in the House of Commons, was introduced in the House of Commons yesterday. Cairo, February 18. Five Bedouins have been found guilty of the murder of Professor Palmer, and Messrs Gill and Charrington, in October last, and sentenced to death. Five others will be executed as soon as they are caught. LATEST AUSTRALIAN NEWS. TAILORESSES STRIKE. (ReceiA r ecl February 20, 10 p.m.) Melbourne, February 20. The tailoresses of this city avlio for some time past have been on strike are expected to return to work at an early date, the strike being virtually ended. THE INTERNATIONAL CRICKET MATCH. (Received February 20, 10.10 p.m.) Sydney, February 20. The international cricket match, Australia v. England, Avas continued to-day, Avhen the Australians, Avith nine wickets doAvn and 249 to their credit, resumed their first innings, which closed for 262, only one run less than the total of their opponents. Boyle was caught for 29, and Evans, aot out. 22. The Englishmen then commenced their second innings and were all dis posed of before the stumps were draAvn, for a total of 197.
