Four men, who have been arrested on the charge of complicity in the murder of Lord Frederick Cavendish and Mr Burke, were brought up at the Dublin Police Court to-day, and identified as having been seen in Phoenix Park at the time of the murder. They have been committed. One of the prisoners, Carey, is the occupier of the house in which the knives, which it is believed were used to commit the crime, were discovered by the police. The prisoners were remanded until Monday next, the sth inst. The Admiralty is depatching to Bombay, Hong Kong, Cape Town, and Sydney, a large number of guns suitable for-the armament of merchantmen, with a view to supplying the naval squadron in case of war. (Received February 3, 3 p.m.) Telegrams are to hand announcing that the installation of Cetewayo hnving been completed, Sir Theophilus Shepstone and the British troops are now returning to Port Natal, (Received February 5, 12.5 p.m. The market rate of discount has risen to 3-|-. The New Zealand 5 per cent. 1889 Loan to-day is quoted at 1054. There are no other changes to report in the money market. ENGLISH CRICKETERS AT BRISBANE. GREAT FIRE AT SYDNEY. (Received February 5, 0.45 a.m.) Brisbane, February 3. The cricket match between Bligh’s team and eighteen of Brisbane concluded to-day, and resulted in a victory for the Englishmen by one innings and 154 runs. Sydney, February 4. A great fire occurred at Bourke, resulting in the total destruction of six buildings, including the branch of the London Chartered Bank of Australia, the Municipal Chambers, and Kirkpatrick’s store. The loss is estimated at £30,000.
