KUMARA HOSPITAL.

A meeting of the Kutnara Hospital Committee was held in the Secretary’s room last evening ; present—Messrs Peara (in the chair), Morris, White, Spyer, and the Secretary. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. A letter was received from Mr R. Toms, stating that he had purchased a boiler for the Hospital from Mr Heinz. The house committee reported that they found everything satisfactory at the Hospital. The following tenders were received from the undermentioned tradesmen for supplies to the Hospital for the next six months :

For the supply of milk, Mr Francis Alden and Mrs Ryder tendered at 5d pet quart. Lots having been drawn, Mrs Ryder was declared the successful tenderer.

For the supply of butcher meat, Messrs M. Morphy and P. Foley both tendered at 4d per Bt>. The same process was resorted to as in the previous case for determining the successfal tenderer, and it fell to the lot of Mr Foley to supply meat. Mr Jas. Wood’s was the only tender for bread, and this was accepted, at 8d per 41b. loaf.

Mr Rudkin’s tender was accepted for groceries and wines and spirits. Mr Falvey’s tender for funerals, at £i 10s, was accepted, on the understanding that be sign conditions to be drawn up by the Secretary. Subscriptions were handed in as follows:—By Mr Motrin, £1 ; by Mr Morgan, £2 10s; by the Secretary, £3 12s.

This concluded the business of the committee.
