BRITISH AND FOREIGN. London, June 7. The Australian and New Zealand mails, via Sttez and Brindisi, were de* livered here to-day. June 8. The race for the Ascot Cup was ran to-day, and resulted as follows:—Foxhall, 1; Faugh-a-Ballagh, 2; Petronel, 3 June 9. News has been received from Ireland to the effect that Mr Bourke, of Galway, landlord, and a dragonn who was escorting him, have been ahot at Andrahan. The police have not yet succeeded iu arresting the assassins. Intelligence is to hand from Ireland again indicating a serious increase in the number of agrarian outrages in the western districts. Yesterday one farmer was murdered and two others seriously wounded. The causes of the outrages are not definitely known, and the assailants are a ill at large. Owing to the heavv rain, which has rendeivd the ground unfit for the cricket match at Nntliughain, it could not be resumed to-day. Naples, June. 7. The executors of the late General Garibadi have found that the cremation of his remains, in accordance with the desire expressed in his will, is not feasible, and it has been abandoned. The patriot's body has been conveyed to the island of Caprera, where he usiully resided, and will be interred there to-day. June 8. The funeral of General Garibaldi took place to-day at Caprera. The ceremony was of an imposing and impressive character, and was witnessed by many thousands of people. —**__ LATEST AUSTRALIAN NEWS. BfiisfiAXE, Jane 10. The brig Syren,- from Kaipara, bas arrived here partially disabled. She met with a severe gale during the passage, and suffered considerably, Two of her seamen were drowned during the storm. Sydney, June & The A.S.N. Company's steamer Ranelagh, which went ashore at King's Reef, near Cardwell, early last month, is reported as having arrived at Cleveland Bay on the Queensland coast, and is now coaling. June 9. Arrived this morning, the Union Company's steamship Hero, from New Zealand.
