Adelaide. April 29. The trial of Barker and Horton,' on a charge to defraud the Australian Mutual Provident Society, was concluded to-day.

Both prisoners were found guilty, but sentence was deferred. Melbourne, April 28. The intercolonial eight-oar boat race between Victoria and New South Wales crews was rowed to-day on the Yarra, and resulted in a victorv for the Sydney men by three lengths. April 29. On application of plaintiff, a new trial has been ordered in the libel action brought by Mr H. It. Williams, Minister for Mines in the late Berry Administratiod, against the Argus, in which a verdict was on the 16th ult given for defendants.
