[new ZEALAND PRESS ASSOCIATION.! Wellington, April 20. The Premier is slightly better to day. Auckland, April 19. On the arrival of the Hinernoa with Sir George Grey, the Hon. Mr Whitaker went aboard and the steamer got out of the Manukau again for Wellington the same tide.
April 20. At the half-vearly meeting of the Bank of New Zealand, the net profit was reported as £82.000, which, with £34,900 brought forward from last half-year, is appropriated as follows : To dividend at the rate of 10 per cent per annum and bonus of £5 per share, £75,000; added to reserve fund, £26,000; carried forward, £11,900. The total .assets amount to over £12,000,000. Coin, bullion, and money on short call in London amounts to over £2,000,000. The report and balance-sheet were adapted, and votes of thanks were accorded to the directors and officers.
