THE SPECIAL CASE FROM WARDEN STRATFORD. [special to kumara times.] Hokitika, April 13. In the Supreme Court to-day, in the case of Henderson v. Rowley, Messrs Guinness and Warner for plaintiff; and Mr Porkiss for defendant, this special case was thrown out, the Judge stating he had no jurisdiction, the Warden's statement having shown on the face of it that he had, before stating it, made an order hihl decided the case.

Christchurch, April 12. The Hinemoa, with the Governor, left for Wellington at one o'clock this afternoon. Four thousand persons visited the Exhibition yesterday. The exhibits have been divided into 21 classes for the purpose of judging, and three jurors will be appointed in most of them, but in one or two cases five will be chosen. The jurors to he chosen by the exhibitors will be chosen at 9.30 a.m. on Monday. What actually took place in regard to the Premier advising the Governor to send for Grey was as follows:—The Hon Mr Johnston, in handing in the resignations of Ministry to the Governor informed his Excellency that he was also the bearer of a communication from the Premier giving his advice as to who should be sent for. His Excellency at once declined to receive any such communication, remarking that it was not usual under such circumstances for a Governor to receive advice of the kind.
