KUMARA WATER-SUPPLY AND SLUDGE-CHANNEL.
A meeting of the Miners Executive Committee appointed for the purpose of carrying out the prayer of a petition to the Hon. the Minister of Mines in reference to the payment for water and use of the sludge channel was held on Thursday evening at Dillman’s Town. Mr G. Watson was voted to the chair. Present—MrP. Dnngan (County Chairman), and a large number of the Connmittee. The minutes of last meeting were confirmed. ■ Correspondence was read and received 10m Mr P. Dungan (County Chairman) • from the Hon. Secretary Stafford Town Committee, with suggestions for permanent regulations] from Mr Seddon, reporting progress ; and from the miners of Clifton, expressing sympathy with the Kumara miners.
The following outward correspondence was read and approved of:—To R. J. Seddon, Esq., M.H.R., Wellington,'with suggestions froth the Committees regarding permanent regulationsto the Stafford and Goldsborough Comknittees, enclosing copy of telegram from Mr Seddon to Kumara Committee. Some small sums were handed in to the treasurer, and several accounts passed for payment. On the motion of Mr F. Thorn, it was resolved that the Committee meet at Dillraan’a Town every Thursday Evening at half-past seven o’clock, and that the Secretary hall special meetings If required. At the closb of the meeting, on the knotion of the Chairman, a vote of thanks was given to Mr Dungan j(County Chairman) for his very valuable aasiatanbe to the caiise-.
