Nelson, March 30. A man named John Dermott was found dead in his bedroom in the Cus-* tom House Hotel this morning. Deceased went to bed at 7.30 last evening in his usual health; and on the servant going to call him to breakfast he was found dead. Dr. Rogers states that deit.h was caused froril asthma and heart disease combined. Ail inquest is now considered necessary. Deceased was- well-known on the Wt£t Coa&V where he took a great interest in mining matters. He was a brother to the late Dr Dermott. Auckland, March 30. The Hons. Bryce, Rolleston, and Atkinson left by train for the Waikato, accompanied by the past representative of the Essex Farmer’s Association. Mary Jane O’Sullivan has been committed lor trial by a coroner’s warrant to the Supreme Court at New Plymouth, for the wilful murder of, her illegitimate infant. The jury found she had caused its death by strangnhtion. Christchurch, March 30. There are twelve cases and 14 prisoners for trial at the coming sessions of the Supreme Court.
