Melbourne, February 16. There are 30 acceptances for the Australian Cnp, and 48 for the approaching meeting "f the. Victoria Racing Club. Mr Elliott, manager of the Bank of Australasia, and who was formerly connected with the Nati.-nal Bank of New Zealand, died suddenly to-day of apoplexy. Sydney, February 16. At Morpeth on the Hunter River, at three o'clock this morning, a man named Charles Grimley shot at and killed a woman named Ann Petit, and subsequently committed suicide. The cause is attributed to jealousy.
