lx J.B.”—We duly received your communication last week, but as it principally concerns ourselves and the so-called “ own correspondent ” of the Hokitika Star, we have withheld it, at all events till convenient, from insertion. The editor of the luminary named has given this aspiring “ literary tinker ” a very appropriate signature (“ Green-eyed Monster ”) to his latest cantankerous effusion, which in substance is as unfounded, untruthful, and unwarranted as were his recent comments on this journal in reference to reporting, or not reporting, particulars of the late diphtheria scare.
