REUTER'S TELEGRAMS.
BRITISH AND FOREIGN. London, January 30. A serious collision occurred yesterday on the railway line near Bow, in east of London. Five passengers were killed, and several suffered injury. Paris, January 29. It has transpired that Freycinet has partially completed the formation of a new Ministry, as follows: —M. Freycinet, Premier and Minister of Foreign Affairs; M. Leon Say, Minister of Finance; M. Ferry, Minister of Education; M. Tirade, Minister of Commerce. January 30. The following additional appointments to the new Ministry have been made:—M. Gollet, Minister of the Interior; M. Ballot, Minister of War. The remaining portfolios are filled by men who have not in the past occupied prominent positions in politics; * LATEST AUSTRALIAN NEWS. Melbourne, January 30. Owing to the extreme heat which is now prevailing, destructive fires have occurred in various parts of the colony, aud considerable loss of property has been occasioned. January 31. The Postal Department announces that the P. and O. steamships will henceforth leave Melbourne with the homeward mails on Thursdays instead of Wednesdays as in the past, except during the Indian monsoon season.
