VOLUNTEER DISTRICT PRIZE FIRING.
Uy a district order, dated Hokitika,January 10th, 1882, the following are the dates fixed for the several companies in the district to cofnpete for the district prizes :—- Greymouth Rangers, Wednesday, IBth January, 1883. First Westland Rifles, Saturday, 21st January, 1882. Kumara Rifles, Tuesday, 31st January, 1882. The following are the rules and conditions under which these prizes are to be 6red for ; First Set. Open to all Volunteers in the district.Distances, 200, 500, and, 600. yards. Seven shots at each distance. First prize, £4 ; second, £2 ; third, £1 } fourth, 15s ; fifth, 13s: sixth, lls>= Totaly£B IU
Second Set. Gpfen only tb Volunteers who have faever wqn any Government prize since Ist January, 1878. Distances, 200, 4.00, and 500 yards. Seven shots at each distance., hirst prize, £3 \ second, £1 l(3s ; third, £1 ; fourth, 15s ; fifth, 13s; sixth, 11a.— Total- £7 l9s. Wimbledon targets,lß73, in both First and Second Sets. Volunteers will only permitted to fire, in one set. The General Government Prize Firing Rules, dated 27th November, 1878, to be istrictly adhered to. (Signed) (Tas. A.
