LATEST ENGLISH NEWS. London, January 10. The police to-day effected the capture at Mill street, Dublin, of the marauders belonging to the secret society which had projected the wholesale murder of farmers who continue to pay rent. The leader of the band, who was arrested last month at Macroom, County df Cork, turned informer, and thus enabled the police to effect the capture of the confederates. ♦ LATEST AUSTRALIAN NEWS. Melbourne, January 10. Sailed this afternoon, the tlnion Company’s steamship Rotomahana, for the Bluff. Another of the Garonne’s passengers has caught small-pox and has beeen taken to the quaiantine station. The Garonne proceeded on her voyage to Sydney to-day. Most of the passengers for New Zealand disembarked here, and will be quarantined for at least a fortnight. An action at law has been brought by the crew of the steamship Ferret alias India, that was seized by the Victorian Customs’ authorities in Apiil last, for the recovery of wages alleged to be due to them, has been dismissed.
