BRITISH AND FOREIGN. London, January 2. The homeward mails, via Suez and Brindisi, which left Melbourne on November 22, were delivered to-day. Seven lady Land Leaguers were, today arrested in Ireland for seditious conduct. New York, January 3. A serious disaster occurred to day at Shanville (sic), a small town in the State of Ohio. The floor of a room, in which a large number o£ people were congregated, gave way, and all were precipitated into the space,, below. Twelve persons were killed instantaneously, and fully: one hundred re-
ceived injuries of a more or less serious character.
