[NEW ZEALAND PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Dunedin, December 14. A woman named Catherine Thompsom suddenly fiell dead in a house in Stafford street this evening. She had been addicted to drink. Wild dogs are stated to be becoming numerous in some parts inland. 150 have been killed on one station during the last year. The Otago Rifle Association's annual meeting began to-day. Fifty-four men competed in the first match, which was won by Volunteer Willcocks, Clutha. December 15. Archibald Watson, residing at Woodhaugh, was killed last night by a tree which he was felling falling on him. Wellington, December 14. Bryce returns to Paribaka next week. He remains there for a few days. Napier, December 14. At the Supreme Court, Rendell, for Post Office robberies, wan acquitted on one charge, and sentenced to six years on another. Others are still to be heard. Christchurch, December 14. Mr Weston has received a telegram from the working meu of Greymouth, congratulating him on his election fur Inang:ihua, and praising him for his earnestness and attention to the interests of his constituents. Another new borough has been called into existence that of St. Albans, which includes the populous suburbs to the north of the city, containing some 4000 or 5000 people. There are already 742 ratepapers on the roll. Wanganui, December 14.
A man named William Grace was drowned yesterday afternoon by the upsetting of a canoe.
