Svnxicv, December 13. In the Legislative Assembly last night, Sir Henry Parkes, Premier, made a lengthy >tateiueiU regarding his approaching viwit to England. Pie stilted that he undertook ihe same solely on account of ill health, but that while! in America he would interview the United States Gevenimeut and endeivor to obtain the free admission of Australian wool to America. All the colonial Governments except Victoria had authoii ed him to act on fheir behalf in this matter. Sir Henry further announced that he would, acting
in concert with new Zealand, do his utmost to obtain American contributions towards the subsidy for the San Francisco mail sevvice. Parliament would be prorogued between February and June, and in the latter month he expected to return to the colony. In his absence his duties would be performed by his colleagues, and his journey would cost the colony nothing.
