At a meeting of the Aberdeen delegates of the. Scotch Laud League today, representations, signed by 40 000 farmers, were presented, demanding immediate reform of the land laws.

It is reported on the Loudon Stock Exchange that a four million loan for the Colony of Victoria will shortly be placed on the market. Paris, December 2.

In the Chamber of Deputies to-day, the vote to cover the expenses of the Tunisian campaign was passed after slight opposition. In course of the debate Gambotta took occasion to refer to the benefit.-, l.kely to arise fiom the European con-

trol of Egypt, and spoke in favor of the same.

The trial of Gniteau continues. The prisoner was examined by counsel at great length to-day. In his replies liedetailed the impulses which led him to commit the crime, and ascribed the same to the Deity.

The cricket match between the English team and twenty-two of Bathurst commenced to-day. The Englishmen in ther first innings scored 115, and at the close of the day’s play the twentytwo had 15 wickets down for 43 runs.
