Dunedin, November 22. Dr Borrows, injured last week by a horse bolting, died this afternoon, lie, had served for some years in the navy, and had chaige of a hospital at Bermudas while on station there. PuNGAiiEHU, November 12. The conveyances belonging to the natives are being taken ont of the pah. These will total about 50 drays, GO Spring traps, 6 buggies and 1 large dray. The o'j> j ct of this movement is to prevent any being stolen, and when the natives have been dispersed several will be allowed to return (under supervision) and load some with potatoes, to take to' their homes, as it is understood several hapus are short of food. Where possible, and ihe natives have no means, road work will be found fur them at fair wages. New Plymouth, November 22. The trial of Hiroki continued. A. Barclay gave evidence of finding the body ot M'Lean, and the fact of his tent having been robbed of powder and bullets. Constable Burrows produced the bullet found in the body. Francis Williams deposed to Tliroki having said lie would kill the pakoha. Oeorger Blake, a half-caste, gave evidence as to searching fur iliroki when he was escaping to Parihaka. Tapa Te. Waero, Waitotara chief, said he accused Hiroki of the murder, which prisoner did m>t deny. Tin- case was adjourned till fcoday.
