Bluff, November 7. The barque England’s Glory, from London to Bluff via Nelson, is a total wreck in Fouveaux Straits, about two miles from Bluff. After discharging part of her cargo at Nelson, she sailed for the Bluff, and arrived off the Heads this morning. It was fine weather. The captain stood close in to Look Out Point to receive the pilot aboard. The pilot took charge, and put the helm up. He trimmed the headsails, but the vessel would not pay off and ran ashore on Look Out Point. A hawser was then run out with a kedge from the quarter, but the attempt to get her off failed, and as she was making water rapidly the crew launched all the boats and got all their effects away. A few minutes afterwards the barque listed to starboard. Her beam cuds aie all under water. She is dry at low water, but the sea breaks over at high water. She is exposed fully to the sea in the Straits, and must break up the first gale. The cargo is principally rails. Everyone is saved.
