LATEST AUSTRALIAN NEWS. Sydney, November 1. The half-yearly meeting of shareholders of the Bank of New South Wales was held here to-day. The report of the directors showed that the profits amounted to £89,251. Out of this sum it was recommended that a dividend of 15 per cent, should be declared, with a bonus of 2| per cent., leaving £4840 to be carried to the reserve fund. Batavia, October 31. An epidemic of cholera has broken out iu Java, and is raging in many parts of the island. Seveial deaths have alleady resulted from the outbreak. Melbourne, November 1. Telegrams are to hand reporting that the barque Ehrensvard, which went ashore at Passoerocan, Java, while on the voyage from Melbourne to Batavia, has been safely floated.
