[new ZEALAND PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, October 30. The Government have now got the full number of volunteers required for the present. They have declined to take men newly enrolled, and who have not had previous training. Government have received a dispatch from Major Mair stating Tawhaio is 'very anxious it should be distinctly understood that he has no sympathy with Te Whiti, ami will not be drawn into any of the latter’s quarrels. The Nelson Volunteers were disembarked at New Plymouth, and not Opunake, as the weather was too had to allow of landing. Arrangements were made for billeting them in the town, and they proceed to the front to-mor-row.
