Parnell’s name bus been removed from lire Commission of the Peace in Ireland.

Much excitement continues to prevail iu Ireland over tiie action of the Executive iu making so many arrests of prominent agitators. Public feeling has manifested itself strongly* in Dublin, and tumultuous gatherings of people have taken place to denounce the Government.

A deputation from the Corporation waited to-day upon the Chief Secretary for Ireland, to complain that the con stabnlavy have hnsn guilty of great brutality in the suppression of the recent riots.

Forster in reply stated that he could only justify the action of the police.

It is announced that in view of the necessity for further reinforcements in Ireland, three regiments will be despatched from England to the disturbed districts without delay. October 18. A proclamation has been issued by the Government in Ireland warning all peaceably disposed citizens to remain in their houses after dark until further notice.

Mr Gladstone is suffering from an attack of influenza.
