THE WARDEN’S COURT.

[to the editor.] Stß—Your attention is called to the fact that the last sitting of the Warden’s Court, which commenced at 6 p m., on Monday, closed between 1 and 2 a.nu> on Tuesday.—l am, sir, yours Jte., SlSepy. Kumara, August 31st, 1881. [We may direct our correspondent’s attention to the fact that whereas the Courts in AugUst were advertised for Mondays, those for September are announced for Tuesdays, from which it may be inferred, as one Or two cases were adjourned till 9 a.ra. on Tuesday next, there will be an alteration in this respect. In justice to the Warden; we must say that more has been saidon the subject of late Court sittings than he is responsible for. We believe we are correct in stating that it was with the consent and even the wish of the miners that the eight o’clock night sittings were instituted, and we have on several occasions noticed that he has made it optional with parties when their cases have been adjourned, whe* ther they would have the further hearing of them set down for Monday night or Tuesday morning. At the same time we are quite in accord with the strictures that have been made so fai? as they concern the R.M. Courts and more especially so as regards the case to which his Honor Judge Broad thought fit to take occasion to officially denounce during the recent sitting of the District Court at K.T.]
