After a debate it was negatived by 61 to 19 votes. Constantinople, August 20. The territory in Thessaly, which forms the extended Greek frontier, has now been evacuated by the Turks, and the Greeks entered upon possession. St. Petersburg, August 20. The treaty between the Russian and Chinese Government for the retrocession of Kuldja territory to China has been ratified here.

Calcutta, August 20. Telegrams are to band from Afghanistan, and they report that the Ameer Abdul Rahman’s forces are now concentrating in the neighborhood of Khelat Ighilzai. Ayoub Khan is still at Candahar, where he continues massing his troops.
