KUMARA HOSPITAL.

A meeting of the Hospital Committee was held in the Secretary’s Room last evening ; present—-Messrs Pearn (in the chair), Morris, Dinan, Morgan, Hughes, F. J. Wilson, J, White, and Toms.

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. A letter from Dr. Porter concerning sleeping accommodation for the Wardsman was referred to the House Committee, to report upon at next meeting. The Ward man’s report for the mouth of July was received and adopted. It stated that the total number of in-door patients during the month was ten. Of these, Edmund Raby (bellman), Salvador Garquillo, Robert Hill, Patrick Riley, Frank Muller, Peter Doonan, Robert Brown (miners), and Robert Whitten (carrier), were still under treatment; John Gartleman, (miner) had been discharged relieved ; and Elizabeth Rees (domestic) had been discharged cured. Messrs Bennett and Pearson were appointed auditors for the year ending June 30, 1883, at £2 2s per annum each. The following sums were acknowledged as being received —By Mr Morris, .£1 ; Mr White, 10s ; Mr Dinan, £1 ; Mr Hughes, £2; the Secretary, £3 9s 6d ; Hart Company entertainment, £4 10s—total £l2 9s 6d. Accounts to the amount of £6l 8s were passed for payment; concluding the business of the meeting.
