Christciiurch, July 20. It continued raining all lust night and to-day. and the consequence is that the country is flodded north and south. The railway line, at several points, is two and three feet under water. This is the case south of Ashbiirton, in the Ellesmere district, and on the Oxford branch line the trains are delayed a good deal in consequeuce. The rivers have not yet" been reported to be flooded.
Wklmxgtox, J;;ly 21. At the Supreme Court this afternoon Whitelaw was found guilty of illtreating a patient, and th<! Judges inflicted a flue of £SO, or six weeks' imprisonment.
