KUMARA HOSPITAL.

The first meeting of the new Hospital Committee was held in the Secretary's Ptoom, Main street, on Tuesday evening, at eight o'clock p.m. There were present—Messrs J. S. Peavn (in the chair), Robt. Morgan, T. Haghe!>, J. White, F. J. Wilson, J. Dinan, W. Morris, R. Toms, L. J. Spyer, and A. C. Campbell. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. Mr A C. Campbell was appointed Tie. i surer. Mr W. Nicholson was appointed Secietary, on same conditions as formerly. Messrs Pearn, Dinan, and Morris were appointed to act as House Committee for one month. It was msolred that applications be called for from persons willing to act as Auditors at the yearly sum of £2 2s each. On the motion of Mr Toms, seconded by Mr Spyer, it was resolved "That in the case of ticket-holders seeking .admission to the Hospital whose tickets are not matured, it be an instruction to the recommending committee that they shall not give orders for admission except in cases of urgency, when a certificate to that effect from the medical officer will be sufficient."

Messrs Campbell, Dinan, and Spyer were appointed a sub-committee to wait upon the Ministers of the various places of worship to request that they will bet apart some Sunday for special services for the Hospital. Receipts, by Mr Morgan £2, by Mr Campbell £l, by the Secretary £2 10s, were acknowledged: and the meetiug terminated.
