[NEW ZEALAND PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Blenheim, July 12. The body found on the banks of the Waihopai river on Sunday has been identified as that of Charles Fleming. Timauu, June 12. By a fire at Ellonghton Grange, three miles from Tirauru, last night, Mr T. W. Hall lost three valuable horses, and a quantity of other property in his stables. The estimated loss is £3OO. There is no insurance. Christchurch, July 12. The malicious prosecution case at the Supreme Court ended in favor of the defendant M‘lntyre. The latter had lent O’Neill some £4O to enable him to go through the Court, and O’Neill, when asked for payment, pleaded his bankruptcy. MTntyre then instituted proceedings for stealing a watch against O'Neill, who was acquitted at the R.M. Court, and the latter sued him for malicious prosecution. The jury considered that M'lntyre had sufficient reason to believe O’Neill was guilty of theft, and returned a verdict for him on all issues.

Dunedin, July 12. The case of M. Simonsen v. Joseph Solomon, an action for alleged breach of promise of marriage, was heard in the Supreme Court this morning. The defendant appeared and said he was, and always had been, prepared to fulfil his promise. The plaintiff's counsel said this was the first they- had heard of such a thing, and plaintiff pressed for the only reparation possible in the circumstances. The jury returned a verdict for £125. Auckland, July 12. The Goverment are in a difficulty owing to the resignation of the Local Board of Health, and are negotiating to induce them to resume office with enlarged powers.
