Charles Fairweather, one of the oldest settlers in the district, while driving through the town to-day, fell back in his dray • and expired almost instantaneously. New Plymouth, June 10. Dr. Redwood, the Catholic Bishop of Wellington, arrived here last night by train, and met with a great reception. There was a torchlight procession, and the streets were lined with crowds of people all the way from the railway station to the church. He was received by Father Chastagnon,. and an address from the congregation was presented to him. Auckland, June 15. The Sylvius colt, by Musket, was shipped by the Rotomahana for Sydney for the Hon. Mr White. The Sydney price is 1250 guineas.
