LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL. Tuesday, June 14. In the Legislative Council to-day, Mr Lahman gave notice to move the reply to the Governor's speech, as prepared by the committee. Mr Whituker gave notice of a bill to prevent fraud and improvidence in the alienation of Native land, and to extend the jurisdiction of the Land Court to lands of dead Natives. A number of Sessional Committees were appointed.
