KUMARA HOSPITAL.

A meeting of the Hospital Committee was held in the Secretary's room last evening ; present M r Pearn (in the chair), Messrs Morgan, Spyer, Toms, Morris, Mansfield, Kiely, Agnew, and Drummond.

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed.

A letter from Dr. Porter concerning the issue of ten-shilling tickets was read and received.

The House Committee's report wa3 read and received.

The Secretary was instructed to acknowledge the receipt of Dr. Porter's letter, and to inform him that he is not required to attend upon patients holding tickets under one month old, unless specially recommended by the House Committee.

In calling for applications from persons willing to act as a Wardsman to the Hospital, at a salary of £BO per annum and found, it was resolved that the matter be left in the hands of the House Committee. If a cook and laundress be also required, her salary to be fixed at £SO per annum and found.

The House Committee were empowered to erect a shed at a cost of £5. If the cost be more than that sum, then to report to general Committee. They were desired also to report on cost of two door screens, suitable for the wards.

Dr. Porter's report for the month of April was read and received. The balance-sheet for the quarter

ended 31st March wag read and received. Mr Toms handed in the following notice of motion, for next meeting : " That from the Ist day of June nexb the issue of half-yearly tickets cease." The following lamttunts collected were* handed in :—Mr W. Nicholson (Secret tary) £ll 7s; Mr Drumroond, £2 10s j Mr Morgan, £2 ; Mr Kiely, £4—total; £l9 17s. It was resolved that unless accounts are' rendered every" month; the Corai tnittee will not recognise them. Accounts to the' amount of £SB 3s were passed for payment, stud the meeting was then adjourned;
