THE LAST VOYAGE OF THE TARARUA.
The Tai-iinia, 563 tons, Captain Garrard, arrived at the Railway Pier, Port Chalmers at 5 o'clock on Wednesday afternoon, the 27th nit., from Sydney and East Coast ports. She left Sydney at 9.30 p.m. on April 14th, experienced light variable winds and fine weather, and reached Auckland at 7.30 a.m. on the 21st. Left for the South at 7.30
p.m. same day, and arrived at Tauranga at 8 30 a.m. on the 22nd, where she took on board Mrs Brennan and her three children, for Melbourne. Sailed at 10 a.m., and reached Gisborne at 6.30 a.m. on the 23rd. Left there at 6 p.m. under easy steam and arrived at Napier at 6 a.m. on the 24th. Sailed again afc 2 p.m., experienced a strong head wind and heavy -sea,-and arrived at Wellington at 2 p.m. on the 25th. Left for Lyttelton at 6 p.m. same day, and reached there at 12.45 p.m. on the 26th. Left again at 7.30 pf.m;, and got to Port Chalmers as above. -She experienced a strpng S.W. breeze and heavy sea after leaving Lyttelton. The Tararua left Port Chalmers for the Bluff on Thursday evening. The reef on which this fine vessel became a total wreck next morning is about four, or five--and-.twenty miles from the Bluff.
