BRITISH AND FOREIGN. London, April 28. The Roman Catholic hierarchy in Ireland demand material alterations in the Irish Land Bill now before Parliament. They denounce the provisions of the measure generally, but particularly the clauses providing for grants to facilitate emigration. In the House of Commons to-day, the Irish Land Bill was again under discussion, but the debate was further adjourned. The Right Hon. W. E. Gladstone has given notice in the House of Commons that he will ask, on Monday next, for leave to introduce a bill to amend the form of oath of allegiance to be taken by members.
" Capetown, April 28. News has been received from .the Transvaal to the effect that the relations between the Boers and the Natives are of a very unsatisfactory character, and it is feared that trouble will arise between them. ♦ LATEST AUSTRALIAN NEWS.
