BRITISH AND FOREIGN. London, April 20,
The executors of the will of the late Earl of Beaoonsfield have declined a proposal made by the Right Hon. W. E. Gladstone, that the funeral of the de ceased should be publicly performed. The will of the late Earl directs that the funeral should be of the most simple character, and that the body should be interred in his wife’s vault at Hughenden. In the consequence of the difficulty
in the way of a settlement of the Turco-Greek frontier question, the Powers have now. made proposals to the Governments of the countries, that the Convention should be held under their auspices, with a view to bring about a complete and final determination of the frontier difficulty. New York, April 20.
The American harvest prospects are unfavorable, owing to the crops generally having been severely damaged by frost.
