PttkE Volatile eucalVptM GLOBULUS EXTRACT. Under the distinguished patronage ot his Majesty the King of Italy, at Rome, according to Communication received from the Consul-General for Italy, at Melbourne, upon instruct tions from the Minister for Foreign Affairis, dated 14th Match, 1878; We are informed that dealers id ttiedicne often try to sell the bucalyptub oil found in the trade instead of our Eucalyptus Extract, So far as the committing of imposition against the public in sbch a case is concerned, the consequences would not be serious j but as the qualities of both of the pro* ducts are in many cases directly ops* posed to one another, wb consider it our duty to direct the public attentioil to the following facts The eucalyptus oil is recorded to be of value as a medicament in cases of rheumatism of secondary nature, and manifests a drawing, blistering eSect,, upon the skin; Any blistering brought oh by the application of a. medicament must increase inflammation, and it Is therefore evident that in cases Of wounds, colds, bronchitis, diptheria, croups sprains, &c., the curative power of our extract on the named diseases being. unquestionably proved by former publications in this paper, an application of the oil instead of our extract must impair the diseased. The truth of our assertion is founded upon the fact that the oil is a resinous product, equivalent to common turpentine, its market value being about three shillings one pound weight; Our ex> tract consists of the evaporating par* tides of the goto leaves, soothing and healing in its effects - * its price being twenty-fonr shillings for one pound weight; o'iir extract, the genuine article, is only made Up Itt oufe halfounce and one ounce vials ; vials bearing oh the labels our trade mark and signature.
