Baylis and M'Lean have brought an action against Williamson, the actor} for slander; £ICOO damages are claimed; A man named M'Phersor), has been arrested on a charge of escaping the police fourteen years ago, when he was being taken to gaol under a conviction for horse stealing. Mr Stock, one of the stewards of the Adelaide Racing Club, has served & writ on behalf of Mr M,Laughlin for j£looo, being the value of the BirthdayCup Stake, and which was paid to Banter.
