Blenheim, May 15. Particulars are just to hand of a‘shocking death by burning at Queen Charlotte’s Sound. They show that on Sunday last Mr Isaac Landed, of Yellorton run, Tory Channel, left home accompanied by his two daughters. They proceeded in a boat to Oyster Bay, where they landed and were joined by a young man named Flood. The party then commenced setting fire to the scrub, the two girls being a short distance from Landed and Flood;' After firing for a short time, Landed called to the girls to come where lie was. A strong wind was blowing at the time, and the scrub was burning fiercely. In response to the summons, the eldest daughter only came, while the other was caught in the flames before she could effect her escape, and was burned to death. The father and Flood, seeing the danger the girl was in, rushed to her assistance, but, when they reached her, she was quite dead, the flesh being blackenee and bard. Great sympathy is felt for Mr Landed in Ids painful bereavement.
