The missing training ship Atlanta has not yet been heard of.
May 1. Earl Cowper has been appointed Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, and Lord O’Hagan has been appointed Lord Chancellor of Ireland.
At the woo] sales to-day 10,600 bales were offered, making a total of 111,200 catalogued since the opening. The tone of sale was quieter and weaker. For inferior and faulty wool the demand is purely speculative.
LATEST AUSTRALIAN NEWS. Sydney, May 3. The crew of the Chandenagore having shown a mutinous spirit, police observations by day and night has found to be necessary.
News has been received that a steamer with several hundred foreigners foe the Colony of New Ireland, has been sighted in the vicinity of that Island.
