AUCKLAND RACES.
Auckland, Apr^fet. The Autumn meeting took plafce today at EUerslle. There was a moderate attendance of the general public, bub a large number of bookmakers. In the Hurdle. Race Tom Finn broke bis leg-, and had to be shot.- In the Autumn Handicap Malvern's rider ; had his leg broken through being earned against a poist, fend ds6 otherwise-injured. - The following are the events:— Tradesmen's Handicap Maid of Honor, 1 j Ratcatcher, 2 ; Soukar, 2. Ellerslie Plate—Hilarious, 1; Kenilworfch, 2 ; Tim Wliffflar, 3. ' , Hurdle Momus, 1 ; Harkaway, 2 ; Harold, 3. Autumn Handicap Tata pa, 1 ; fcibeller, 2 ; King Quail, 3.
Novd Confident, 1 ; Luna, 2 ; Barney, 3; Publican's Purse—Maid of Honor, 1; Soukai'j 2 5 Hilarious, 3.
April 23. The second day's races; were well attended, several hundred I,more being present, among whom were the Hon. Messrs Oliver, Whitaker, Bryce, and Sheehan.
