The ratepayers of Timaru Borough have decided to-day, by 303 votes to 61, to raise a 60,000 loan for . water works. January 25. At the Resident Magistrate’s Court yesterday, William Kelly and Robert Robertson were committed for trial on three charges of highway robbery and robbing with violence. All the offences took place in Timaru. Both men are well-known in Dunedin, and it is believed the police have made a very important capture. Robertson made a clean breast of the whole thing. Both men are aged about 28.
