The King of Italy has conferred upon Professor Yon Huast, director of our museum, the knighthood of the Order of the Crown of Italy. The insignia and necessary documents were received by yesterday’s mail. Tijlauu, January 15.
A man mimed Win, Wills, came to town from shearing about a week ago, and slaved at the old Bank Hotel. At Port Chalmers to-day, W. Rummall was engaged loading a truck with casks from the ship Taranaki) when the sling .broke and one of the casks struck him, inflicting severe injuries on the head anti face. Fears are entertained of his recovery. Wellixgtox, January 16. Subscriptions to the list opened by the Evening Post, in aid of the Irish distress,'are coming in freely.
